Blown A Way
Oliver Halsman Rosenberg
Thursday, 18 Jan 2007 to Saturday, 24 Feb 2007

Oliver Halsman Rosenberg highlights a historical tension between painting and photography. His installation works both as homage to the town of Collioure, home of Matisse and Derain, while it points towards the limits of representation and visual experience.

Oliver Halsman Rosenberg's recent solo exhibitions include Crust and Dirt’s Instant Drawing Machine, The Drawing Center, New York (2006); Karmageddon, Adobe Backroom Gallery, San Francisco (2005); and Gatherers, Western Exhibitions, Chicago (2005). Recent group exhibitions include ON THE ROAD AGAIN: BEAT CULTURE, BUSH EAR, Rena Bransten Gallery, San Francisco (2006); Uneasy Marriage, Motel Gallery, Portland (2006); Close Calls, Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito (2006); Everyone Sees the Sun, Galleri Loyal, Stockholm (2005); Realms of SF, Nakaochiai Gallery, Tokyo (2005); and Zine Unbound, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (2005). Rosenberg lives and works in New York.
