Jovial Tales for Tragic Sensibilities: A Retrospective of the Work of Jeanne C. Finely + John Muse

Hans Winkler, Crime Museum

This pocket book includes a photograph of one piece of evidence from each of the “criminal art” acts created by Hans Winkler for this exhibition. A short crime fiction by mystery writer Candida B. Korman is included.

Downtime: Constructing Leisure

A fully-illustrated catalog enclosed in a protective book jacket, this
exhibition guide includes essays by Meredith Johnson, Anuradha Vikram and
Tanya Zimbardo, an interview with Dean MacCannell (author of The Tourist),
and descriptions of each work with artists’ bios. Curated by the inaugural
class of the California College of the Arts MA Program in Curatorial
Practice, Downtime features work by Bureau d’études, Tacita Dean, Josh
Greene, Doug Hall, Luis Jacob, Tobias Putrih, Pedro Reyes, Steven Shearer,
Melinda Stone and Mungo Thomson.

Retrofuturist

Featuring an essay by curator Berin Golonu and descriptions of the artists' works, this catalog is an appealing compliment to the exhibition Retrofuturist. The exhibition, with Adam Ross, Luisa Kazanas, Leona Christie, David Huffman, Yorgo Alexopoulos, Russell Nachman, William Swanson, couples their expectations for the future with sci-fi aesthetic sensibilities of the past.

LifeLike

LifeLike is a multidisciplinary project in which the organic and the inorganic crossbreed. Designed by Appetite Engineers, this catalog includes an essay by curator Marcia Tanner as well as text and imagery dedicated to the artists' exploration between the natural and the artificial.

Anna Gaskell, future's eve

Commemorating future's eve, an installation of Anna Gaskell's film and drawings, this catalog features an interview by Langton's Program Director James Bewley with Gaskell. The catalog includes film stills and pen and ink drawings by Gaskell, as well as informative texts providing insight to Gaskell as inventor, seducer, and artist.

Jim Pomeroy: A Retrospective

This 70-page catalog documents the life and work of Jim Pomeroy with original essays by the artist himself as well as contributions by Paul DeMarinis, critic and curator Timothy Druckrey, artist Jim Melchert, Susan Miller, and author Constance Penley. The catalog includes color and black and white reproductions of Jim's photography, performance, video and installation works.
